After a thorough exam, your options for treatment may include physical therapy, therapeutic injections, nerve blocks, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, behavioral modification, medication, or surgery. We’ll listen to your concerns and discuss the pros and cons of each of your options.
Our multidisciplinary clinic includes not only pain management specialists, but also sub-specialized orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, and licensed physical therapists who work together when necessary to provide the most effective treatment plan for our patients. The result of this team-based approach is faster pain relief.
Pain management appointments are available at both our Warrenton, VA and Gainesville, VA offices.
As a convenient and cost-saving option, minimally-invasive treatments can be administered at our Warrenton location, in our outpatient surgical center. allowing you to get right back to your normal daily activities.
Spinal Cord Stimulator
Dr. Heller has been using Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) therapy to treat spine pain for over 15 years and was among the first to adopt this new technology. SCS works by delivering mild electrical impulses to the spinal cord using an implanted medical device. The impulses block or alter pain signals before they reach the brain, resulting in significant pain reduction for most patients. SCS is a minimally-invasive outpatient procedure and can be performed at our Warrenton office in our surgery center.
The following videos contain more information about SCS.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
PRP injection therapy is a natural way to nurture the biological regeneration of ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and bone using a patient’s own blood. A PRP injection is a minimally invasive procedure and, because it is an autologous biologic therapy, the risks associated with it are minimal. No general anesthesia is required and it can be done right here at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center in our surgical center.

It’s important to note PRP therapy is different from drugs or surgery. It does not provide immediate pain relief or offer a quick fix. Its purpose is to speed up the body’s own healing process, which may still take weeks or months. In some cases, a second injection is required. Ask your doctor for more information.
